Friends of Flagstaff's Future (F3) is a nonprofit member and volunteer based organization. We believe in the strong relationship between a sustainable social, natural, and economic environment and therefore, much of our focus is on creating and maintaining a strong local economy. We also believe that many local businesses want to give back and support their community. We therefore see this as an opportunity to form a symbiotic partnership for the greater benefit of Flagstaff.

The circle of Karma: You contribute to F3, we work for the community, the community supports you!

Your part

Once month, on a specific day of your choosing (for example every other first Wednesday) your business will donate a percentage of that day’s sales revenues to F3. This donation is tax deductible. Contribution levels are between 5%-15% for retail stores and restaurants, and between 10%-25% for service type businesses.

Our part

We will make sure all our members, supporters, volunteers, and friends know about the businesses that partner with us to care for, improve, and sustain our community.

All participating businesses:

• Will be included in our bi weekly “Flagstaff Voice” newsletter, and on our Dates 2 Remember calendar.
• Will be included in an event reminder of participating days, sent to over 500 members on facebook.
• Will be recognized as our partners on our website, with direct links to their web sites.
• Will receive a sticker and sign to place in a visible location recognizing their business as part the Circle of Karma collaborative partnership.
• Will receive a monthly, or yearly, official Thank You letter, with the amount contributed, to be used when filing taxes, or to be placed in a visible location in their business.

In addition members committing to four months and over:

• Will have their logo and a Thank You in our unique and exclusive Flagstaff Calendar, distributed to over 1000 homes, offices, and public places around Flagstaff and the surrounding areas.
• Will be recognized in footer of all event flyers and will be verbally recognized in each of our events (3 major events coming up).
• Will receive a framed “Friends of Flagstaff’s Future” picture with a signed personalized thank you to place in their business.
• Each newsletter will feature a short story about a committed business. Stories will rotate year round and include information about the business, the owners, and their contribution to Flagstaff.

Where is your contribution going?

It's not called the Circle of Karma for nothing. With your contribution we hope to strengthen and build our community. Our vision is both long and short term, including community seminars and educational talks, natural resources and energy action teams, on the ground community improvements, partnerships with the city, local charities, and other non profits, and a number of policy initiatives to improve the lives of Flagstaff residents and visitors.

How is this different from FIBA, the Chamber or other donations to non profits?

F3 is working to sustain and enhance the greater Flagstaff area’s high quality of life through activism and advocacy of policies supporting a livable community. Unlike other business alliances, non-profits, or charities, we focus on it ALL. We see ourselves as an umbrella organization, created to take care of the whole, through the many little parts. Be it an emphasis on green designs, affordable housing, diverse transportation options, protection of environmental quality, support of small and locally owned businesses, and especially citizen education, involvement, and empowerment. Therefore F3 is not just an organization; it is us, all of us, residents of Flagstaff who care and are trying to make a difference. Therefore by supporting F3, you are not just making a donation, but rather, becoming part of the Circle of Karma, where positive community support goes around, and comes around.

Agreement:

This is not a contract or a binding agreement, but rather an act of partnership, mutual understanding, and collaborative dedication to our community. Therefore, there are no dues, fees, or committed time lengths. We will work with you to create a process that works for you.

How do we start?

We are ready when you are! All we have to do is meet, determine the percentage of support you wish to provide, find the specific day that works best for you, and off we go to create a better Flagstaff together!
